Slow Fashion Award 12

 

The Slow Fashion Award 2010 broaches the issue of the latest and sustainable textile design and development. This year the award focuses on making RECYCLING FASHION socially acceptable. Including the background of their usage African textiles turn into new products: ACCESSORIES.The winner’s designs, chosen by a prominent jury, get awarded on 23 April 2010. Muu*-design and Slow Fashion, agency for sustainable design present the third award for more sustainability in the fashion industry – this year for the first time in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. 

The Slow Fashion Award for consciousness and publication of ecological strategies in the Austrian fashion design industry is the first of its kind.

We consider sustainable and innovative textiles as communicative medium, in which society and intimacy, social responsibility, esthetical-sensual qualities and specific material characteristics are of great importance.
The award is tended to make sustainability and circulatory managing emotionally accessible and to anchor those issues in companies as well as in society.

In the years 2007 and 2008 the Slow Fashion Award took place under the name of the ‘Eco Textile Award’.
